Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent possible sag of a tape in the reversed operation thereof during the high speed running by driving a motor detecting a negative electromotive voltage generated in a motor on the starting side when a command is provided to reverse the running of the tape. CONSTITUTION:Counter electromotive voltage detector circuits 7 and 7' are provided to detect a negative electromotive voltage generated across motors 1 and 1'. A counter electromotive voltage detector circuit 7 comprises a reference voltage source 8 for generating a reference voltage corresponding to the down limit level of the operation range of an error amplifier 4 composing an input stage of a speed control circuit 2 and an error amplifier 9 with the reference voltage as non-reverse input while with the counter electromotive voltage of the motor 1 as reverse input. A counter electromotive voltage detector circuit 7' on the side of the motor 1' is likewise composed of a reference voltage source 8' and an error amplifier 9'.
