Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency in gas sucking, by fixing a length of a suction connecting pipe used for inducing a gas into a compression element to a specific length so that a pressure pulsation of a gas is sympathetically amplified in the suction connecting pipe. CONSTITUTION:In a rotary compressor for air-conditioning, where a direct pipe having its one end opened and the other end closed is used as a suction connecting pipe 7, a primary sympathetic length l1 is represented by the formula l1= T.a/4, wherein a suction stroke period is denoted by Tsec, a suction gas sonic speed is denoted by a m/sec. On the base of said formula, are determined amplitude DELTAP of vibration of a pressure pulsation and a capacity efficiency etav when a length l of the suction connection pipe is changed within the range of l1+ or -0.5m. According to the experimental result, l1=0.74m is obtained from said formula. Furthermore, it is corrected with reference to the experimental result to gain (T.a/4-0.2)+ or -0.1=l. Consequently, by determining a length of the suction connecting pipe of a rotary compressor based on said formula, a volumetric efficiency thereof can be enhanced.
