Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent friction heat from being transmitted to brake fluid, by forming friction pad linings on operating and reaction sides with a friction material lower in thermal conductivity than a friction pad lining disposed between disks.
CONSTITUTION: Friction heat generated due to sliding contact between disks 1, 2 and linings 13a, 14a, 15a is blocked by the linings 13a, 14a made of asbest friction material of lower thermal conductivity. Accordingly, thermal conduction from a rear plate 13b to a piston 17 and an operating part 8 is reduced, and also thermal conduction from a rear plate 14b, reaction part 9 and bridge part 7 to the piston 17 and the operating part 8 is lessened, whereby temperature rise of brake fluid in a fluid pressure chamber 18 can be suppressed and vapour lock can be effectively prevented.
