Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the response property, by immobilizing pyruvic acid oxydase together with lactic acid dehydrogenase, nicotine amide adenine dinucleotide, on a collecting electrode. CONSTITUTION:An electrode base as a collector also serving as an immobilized carrier of an enzyme and coenzyme, is obtained by press-forming the mixture of carbon powder (graphite) and fluororesin powder as a binder. An aqueous solution of nicotine amide adenine dinucleotide is developed on this electrode base, and is dried. Successively, a mixed aqueous solution of lactic acid dehydrogenase and pyruvic acid oxydase is developed and dried. Then, glutaraldehyde functioning as an immobilizing agent is acted thereon and the resulting product is subjected to the immobilizing reaction, and is rinsed to yield an enzyme electrode. The electrode A thus obtained exhibits excellent sensibility compared with the electrode B not using pyruvic acid oxydase.
