Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a gas sensor being capable of measuring at the normal temperature and humidity without using a heater, by using the phthalocyanine coloring matter as the material of a gas sensitive body. CONSTITUTION:A golden comb-shaped electrode 3 is provided on the surface of a glass substrate 1 and a phthalocyanine film 2 is stuck on said surface. Direct current voltage is applied through a lead wire 4 and an electric current flowing when gaseous halogen, gaseous Lewis acid, gaseous Brensted acid and/or gaseous ammonia is contacted with the film 2 is detected by operating said gas sensor. The early stage stability is very good compared with the gas sensor using a heater and it is stabilized immediately when the voltage is applied. A characteristic of life is stable under the normal temperature and humidity but the fuction as the sensor is spoiled by vaporizing phthalocyanine at a high temperature such as >=150 deg.C.
