PURPOSE: To obtain PE having a wide molecular-weight distribution with a small amount of a catalyst without a deashing stage, by using the catalyst consisting of an org. Al compd. and a solid product obtd. by reacting a Ti compd. contg. halogen with a solid obtd. by the reaction of a compd. contg. Ti, Mg and halogen with a specified Zr compd.
CONSTITUTION: A halogen-contg. Ti compd. of formula I (wherein R1 is alkyl; X1 is halogen; 0≤n<4) is reacted with a solid obtd. by the reaction of a compd. contg. at least Ti, Mg and halogen with a tetraalkoxyzirconium and/or a zirconium halide, to obtain a solid product (A) PE is produced by using a catalyst contg. as active components, the solid product (A) and an org. Al compd. (B) of formula II (wherein R2 is alkyl; X2 is halogen; 0<m≤3) or III (wherein R3, R4 are each alkyl; 0< K≤3). The catalyst exhibits a high activity and a satisfactory effect can be obtd. with a small amount of the catalyst, so that the deashing stage can be eliminated. The resulting PE has a high bulk specific gravity, good particle size with less fine powder, a wide molecular-weight distribution and good moldability.
