Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform desalting of sea water and cooling simultaneously by introducing the air of high temp. and high humidity on the surface of the sea through an air intake port floating on the surface of the sea into a condenser, cooling the same with cold sea water to condense steam and using the cooled and dehumidified air as cold sources.
CONSTITUTION: A fan 4 is operated to introduced the air of high temp. and high humidity on the surface of the sea through an air intake port 1 floating on the surface of the sea into a condenser 2. Cold sear water at high depth is separately conducted into the condenser 2 and the air on the surface of the sea is heat- exchanged with this and is thereby cooled. Therefore, the steam in the air on the surface of the sea condenses to fresh water which is stored in a water storage tank 3, and is used through a water supply system 6 according to need. On the other hand, the cooled and dehumidified air passes through a passage 13 insulated with heat insulating materials and is conducted to a cooler 5.
