Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the desired volume of emitted light with high accuracy, by providing the 1st switch in series to a charging path and a discharging path including the 2nd switch in parallel to a charging capacitor. CONSTITUTION:The AC voltage boosted by boosting transformers 1 and 2 is rectified by a rectifying circuit 3 and charges a charging capacitor 4. The charging voltage detected by a voltage dividing circuit 9 is supplied to a comparator 10 to be compared with the reference voltage Vref. If the detected voltage is less than the reference voltage, the 1st switch 6 is closed. Then the charging is continued until the detected voltage becomes in coincidence with the reference voltage. On the contrary, if the detected voltage is more than the reference voltage, the 2nd switch 8 is closed. Then the electric charge of the capacitor 4 is discharged continuously via a discharge resistance 7 until coincidence is obtained between both voltages.
