Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve sensitivity and durability of an electrophotographic receptor, by adding a specified trisazo pigment to it. CONSTITUTION:An electrophotographic receptor contains a trisazo pigment represented by the formulaIin which A is an aromatic coupler, and B1, B2, B3, B4 are each H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, nitro, or trifluoromethyl. The trisazo pigment represented by the formulaIhas, preferably, A selected from couplers represented by the formulae II, III, and IV in which X is a residue condensing with a benzene ring and forming a naphthalene, anthracene, carbazole, or dibenzofuran ring; Y is -CONR1R2, R1 being H, alkyl, or phenyl, R2 being alkyl, phenyl, or naphthyl; and R3 is alkyl or phenyl. This electrophotographic receptor can be widely used for a laser printer, CRT printer, or the like electrophotography application field in addition to an electrophotographic copying machine.
