Abstract
PURPOSE:To automatically conduct compensation of a magnetic field of error caused by a vehicle by finding a signal compensating the effect caused by the magnetic field of the vehicle itself from a signal obtained from a plurality of states of rotation of a magnetic sensor. CONSTITUTION:Output signals 10U and 10V of the magnetic sensor 1 fitted to the mobile are given to an operation circuit 3 through amplifiers 20 and 21, and the signals to compensate the effect which the magnetic field generated by the magnetization of the vehicle itself gives to the horizontal magnetic field component of the earth are determined from the signals obtained in a plurality of states of rotation of the magnetic sensor 1 and are given to coils 11 and 12 for generating a compensating magnetic field of the magnetic sensor 1, through the intermediary of a conversion circuit 4. The direction of advance of a running body is determined easily from the outputs of output terminals 200 and 210. By this constitution, the compensation of the magnetic field of error caused by the vehicle is conducted automatically.
