Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable high density recording at an arbitrary position of one page, by detecting a specific signal, selecting a beam to drive among a plurality of beams and changing a picture clock frequency. CONSTITUTION:A light collecting lens 2 makes parallel divergent light from a light source unit 1 as L1-L4. The parallel beams L1-L4 are scanned with a rotary poly- mirror 3 and image is formed on a photoreceptor 5. A reflection mirror 6 introduces a plurality of scanning beams into a beam detector 7. A shutter plate 8 detects the beam location accurately, and when the beam crosses the edge of a shutter 8, the interrupted light is radiated to a beam detector 7 suddenly, and the electric output corresponding to the beam radiation is outputted to the detector 7.
