Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently manufacture a metallic sintered body with high m.p. and uniform and high quality by subjecting a molded body of metallic powder with high m.p. to high frequency induction heating while supporting the tip of the body with a support made of previously sintered metal with high m.p.
CONSTITUTION: A heating zone is formed in the center of a high frquency induction heating furnace 1 with a heating coil 2. A molded body 3 of metallic powder with high m.p. such as tungsten or molybdenum powder is supported with rollers 4 made of heat resistant metal, and it is continuously fed to the left. The interior of the furnace 1 is kept in a hydrogen atmosphere. The tip of the press-molded body 3 is supported with the stepped part 51 of a support 5 made of previously sintered molybdenum. Thus, the molded body 3 is not deformed by heating even to about 2,500°C maximum temp.
