Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a high-reliability magnetic head which has less gap deformation by improving wear resistance, by equipping a spacer made of crystalline alloy consisting essentially of Co, Ni and Cr in the magnetic gap of a magnetic core made of an amorphous magnetic material. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic core 2a is made of an amorphous magnetic material, such as Fe2.5Co71.5Mn3Si11.5B11.5. In a magnetic gap 1a, a nonmagnetic material which has about 500 hardness Hv and about 40 deg.C Curie temperature obtained by annealing alloy containing 30-50% Co, 16-36% Ni, and 2-22% Cr is equipped as a spacer. Consequently, the wear resistance of the spacer 1a is improved, and as the spacer 1a wears away, the edge part of the gap 1 of the magnetic core 2 also wears away, thereby preventing frequency characteristics from deteriorating.
