Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the strength of a leaf spring for winding up, by arranging more quantity of reinforced fiber on front lower and rear upper outer layer portions of the leaf spring on which tensile stress is occurred at the time of the winding up than other part. CONSTITUTION:A car 3 is fixed on the central lower portion of a leaf spring 1 of which front and rear end portions of chassis attaching portions are formed into eye-like portions 1a, 1b. The leaf spring 1 bends as shown by a long and short dash line at the time of no-load and as shown by a long and two short dashes line at the time of winding up. Then, at the time of the winding up, tensile stress is occurred on a front lower outer layer portion 1c and a rear upper outer layer portion 1d, and compressive stress is occurred on opposite side outer layer portions 1e, 1f. Then, the leaf spring can endure large tensile stress and the influence of the winding up can be restrained at minimum, by arranging reinforcing resin as carbon fiber or the like of which tensile stress is larger than a usual material on the outer layer portions 1c, 1d.
