Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable automatic alternation of indication with a lower error of striking keys at the shift operation by forming a keytop character indication of a key depressing device with multi-point matrix while providing a pattern memory circuit for indication of a characters.
CONSTITUTION: A keytop character indication controlling circuit KEY-CTL provides a multi-point matrix indication of a keytop character with an LED in an input key device KEY in a character pattern corresponding to a shift condition via a keytop character indication driver KEY-DRV. The selection of the character indication pattern is done by shift operation or command from an input/ output controller IOC. The character pattern is altered by rewriting according to a command from the device IOC. The contents of a keytop character pattern memory circuit KEY-MM are used in common to indication on DISP. Thus, the keytop indication is always made in single character thereby enabling automatic alteration of the character indication along with reduction in error of stricking keys.
