Abstract
PURPOSE: To cut a cotton candy into a given length without causing adhesion and collapse at its section, by providing a means to reduce the width and thickness of a raw body of cotton candy formed in a continuous long state and a cutter at the lower side of the means.
CONSTITUTION: A raw body of cotton candy having the constant width W (between the ends of the alternate long and short dash line) and the thickness T formed in a continuous long state is transported by the conveyor belt 2 to the space between the vertical guide walls 1 and 1'. The thickness T of the raw body of cotton candy is reduced by a press roll equipped with the protrusion 7, being intermittently driven, similarly the width W is reduced by a pair of the intermittently rotating sandwiching rolls 9 and 9', and the raw body is slid on the supporting floor 8. After that, the raw body of cotton candy is surrounded on the four sides by the narrow width guide walls 12 and 12', the intermittently rotating press roll 15 and the supporting floor 8, and simultaneously heated by the heating means 13, 14 and 14' to prevent adhesion and solidification, and cut into a fixed length by the rotary cutter 17.
