Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the titled ink supply device and stabilize the formation of ink drops of multi-type for long time by communicating a tank with individual heads with pipes and applyied pressure to ink in the tank and making it possible to select either supplying ink to heads individually or to all the same time. CONSTITUTION:When valves 104 and 106 are opened, and a first ink tank 102 is applied pressure by a pump 101 with a valve 110 and either valve 104' or 106' closed, ink is supplied to an ink jet head 105 through a pipe 103. Air in the head 105, pipes 107 and 112 is excluded by this pressurizing to fill the channel between the first tank 102 and a second tank 108 with ink. In the same way the other ink jet head 105' is filled with ink. Then the pressure application is stopped and the valve 110 is opened to make equal the ink levels of both tanks 102 and 108. Further, if all valves are opened, ink is supplied to both heads 105 and 105' by capillary action.
