Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve follow-up performance of a pump from weight lightness of its vane, operate the pump at high speed and easily apply the pump to a car cooler, by constituting both a main unit of the vane with resin slidable material and its slidably contacting end part with hard metallic material.
CONSTITUTION: A vane 4 is constituted by integrally uniting a main unit portion 4a, fitted and held to an engagement groove 3 of a rotor in a slidable state of reciprocating motion, and a point end portion 4b, slidably contacted to the cam surface of a housing, from different materials. There is used for the main unit portion 4a the material in which at least one of carbon, graphite and the like is added to resin of excellent stiffness, rigidity and adhesiveness such as phenol resin, furan resin, etc. The point end portion 4b is constituted by hard metal of die steel, chrome steel, etc., and hardness of the surface at least 400 is preferable and at least 700 further preferable.
