Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent production of liquid film flows in a crankcase prepressurizing type 2-cycle engine by forming a partial projection at a scavenging port of the engine such that a scavenging air flow is collided with a stepped portion of the projection.
CONSTITUTION: A sleeve 12 is fitted on a cylinder body portion 11. A scavenging air passage 13 is provided between the cylinder body portion 11 and sleeve 12 and communicates with a crankcase R1. The scavenging air passage 13 further communicates at the other end thereof with a combustion chamber C by way of a scavenging port 12a provided to the sleeve 12. One end of the scavenging port 12a projects in such a manner as to throttle the passage 13 and has a projected stepped portion 12c formed thereon. Thus, part of a scavenging air flow is brought into collision with this projected stepped portion 12c.
