Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a five-way change-over valve that can be changed over in five ways, by rotatably housing a spherical valve having an outer spherical surface in a case, and providing four openings in the circumferential wall of said case and one opening in the center of the bottom of the case.
CONSTITUTION: The case 1 where the spherical valve 2 is rotatably housed has the first to fourth openings (aWd) in the side wall the axes of which make about 90 degrees with each other and the fifth opening (e) in the center of the case 1. The spherical valve 2 has a lower opening (f) in the center of the bottom thereof which is in communication with said opening (e), and a transverse passage (m) transversing the center of the valve 2, and the transverse passage (m) has first and second openings (g, h). A branch passage (n) extends at an angle of less than 90° from the center of the transverse passage (m), and has a third opening (i). An independent passage (o) that is spaced from the center of the valve 2 is provided. The passage (o) has fourth and fifth openings (j, k) whose axes make 90° with each other.
