Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a charge generating substance with superior charge carrier generating capacity by using a layer contg. a specified disazo pigment as a charge generating layer and a layer contg. a specified anthracene compound as a charge transferring layer. CONSTITUTION:A charge generating layer 22 is made of layer contg. a disazo pigment represented by formulaI, and a charge transferring layer 33 is made of layer contg. an anthracene compound represented by formula II (where R1 is H or halogen, and R2 is optionally substituted phenyl, naphthyl, anthryl or carbazolyl). In the figure, 11 is an electrically conductive support, and 44 is a photosensitive layer.
