Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the drying efficiency and incineration rate of dehydrated cake by utilizing the cracked gas produced from a reaction tube for heat treatment of org. sludge as a heating source of air for drying dehydrated sludge cake prior to reduction of the gas pressure.
CONSTITUTION: The cracked gas produced in a reaction vessel 4 flows through a cracked gas flow passage 14' and is introduced into an indirect type cake dryer 15, where it dries cake indirectly, after which it is reduced in a pressure control valve 12' and is discharged. The cake formed in a dehydrator 9 is disintegrated, after which it is carried by a conveyor 19 into a dryer 15, from which the cake is transferred onto a belt conveyor 20. While it moves in the dryer, it receives the supply of heated air from above, whereby it is reduced the water contents. It is again transferred from the dryer 15 onto a belt conveyor 21, by which it is carried out into an incineration furnace 11. The water contents in the cake at the point of this time are reduced to about 20%.
