Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain panchromatic and extended spectral sensitivity with high sensitivity by using a trigonal Se for a photoconductor. CONSTITUTION:A material, which is prepared by dispersing a trigonal Se microcrystal into a continuous phase of electric insulating binder polymer, is used as photoconductive layer. A photoconductor is prepared by such as method as to dissolve said binder and an inorg. Se compd. liberating Se element by reduction and being soluble into solvent such as, for example, selenic dioxide, selenious acid and hydrazine, which is expressed by the general formula, into a solvent. (In formula, R is 1-8C alkyl radical, phenyl radical or substituted phenyl radical.) Further, compd., in which filler particles, for example, polymer particles or a SiO2 particles, which are insoluble in solvent and are nonreactive substantially with said selenic compd. and reducing agents, is dispersed into obtained solution, is coated onto a electroconductive substrate, and after it is dried, it is heated at about 80-200 deg.C temp, if it is not dried, this heating is performed together with drying. Thereby, the photoconductor is prepared.
