Abstract

PURPOSE: To permit evaluation test under high temperatures and pressures, by consisting of a specimen box in which iron-manufacturing raw materials such as ore and coke are contained, and an electric furnace which houses a reactive container holding the specimen box and which is pressure-resistant structured by covering the outer skin with metallic material.
CONSTITUTION: An evaluation test equipment for properties of iron-manufacturing raw material is designed so that a raw material specimen 2 contained in a specimen box 10, which is housed in a reactive tube 1 placed inside a furnace, can be applied with an arbitrary load by a cylinder 3. A heating element 4 is provided near the reactive tube and covered with heat insulating material 5. The outer layer (outer skin) 6 is covered with a metallic material provided with a water jacket. When atmospheric gas 7 compatible with furnace gas is sypplied and exhausted, the specimen 2 moves up and down by the heating element 4 and melted into fusion drops. These fusion drops are collected in a collecting pan 9. Since the entire furnace is hermetically covered with an outer skin of metallic material, this equipment can withstand the pressures 1W10atm in a range of 1,000°CW1,600°C.
