Abstract

PURPOSE: To protect a nozzle from the exhaust-gas and lengthen the life of the nozzle by a method wherein an open air introducing path is provided around the nozzle in the device in which the exhaust-gas discharged from a chimney to the open air is cooled by cooling water sprayed from a spray nozzle.
CONSTITUTION: The spray nozzle 3 is provided at a proper place in a flue 1, one end of which is connected to a ombustion device (not shown) and the other end of which is connected to the chimney 2 respectively, so as to expose the tip end 3a thereof into the flue 1. In this case, the spray nozzle 3 is inserted into an inserting hole 5 provided on the flue 1 so as to form the open air introducing path 4 around it. Water is injected into the flue 1 energetically to cool the exhaust-gas flowed through the flue 1 by pressurizing and supplying the water from a water supplying source 7 to the spray nozzle 3 by means of a water pump 6. In this case, the open air is induced from the path 4 by a suction effect upon injection of the water from the nozzle 3 thereby protecting the tip end 3a of the nozzle from the exhaust-gas.
