Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect the signal adapted to the servo control, by arranging light emitting devices and light receiving devices respectively in the end part and the open hole position of the object to be detected correspondingly to the object to be detected which is provided with the open hole in a prescribed distance from the end part and by detecting the position by output signals of respective light receiving devices.
CONSTITUTION: When slit material 11 is moved in the (x) direction, light receiving device 16c is first shielded, and then, light receiving devices 16b and 16a are shielded in order. Output signals of light receiving devices 16aW16c are converted to binary signals by amplifying and waveform shaping circuit 17. Binary signals are input to adder 19 directly or through voltage generator 18. Meanwhile, outputs of light receiving devices 10a and 10b are input to adder 19 through differential amplifier 13. The output of adder 19 becomes the waveform signal of a shape inclination at the zero cross point and is the position signal adapted to the servo control.
