Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve combustibility in low loading by arranging a plurality of intake valves in an cylinder and using only one intake cylinder, perventing the selector valve from forming resistance to intake gas.
CONSTITUTION: On a cylinder not shown in the figure, two intake valves 10a and 10b are fitted. Owing to the action of said intake valves, filling efficiency is increased, especially combustion in high loading is improved. On the upper stream of both intake valves, a branching wall 27 is formed, and on the top part of the wall, a selector valve 28 is arranged by which both branching passage 26a and 26b are switched by a interconnection mechanism not shown in the figure. In high loading, the valve occupies the position shown by the dotted line, and in low loading occupies the position shown by the full line, and the valve closes either of the passages. In the closing position, the upstream side wall surfaces 28b and 28c of the selector valve 28 form the leading stream wall for leading intake smoothly.
