Abstract
PURPOSE:To suppress slag foaming during treatment by blowing an oxidizing gas into the desiliconization slag formed in desiliconization of molten iron. CONSTITUTION:In beforehand carrying out the desiliconization only of molten iron through pretreatment, an oxidizing gas such as oxgen gas or air is supplied into slag, whereby CO is converted to CO2 before it reacts with FeO so that the formation of a small amount of CO2 gas is prevented and foaming forming phenomenon is eliminated. Reaction efficiency is higher as the gas to be supplied is supplied to the entire part of the slag layer. The oxygen content of the gas to be supplied is in an about 0.5-10Nm<3>/t-pig range and a method of directly blowing the same into slat is best. Thereby, the stable desiliconization operation may be accomplished.
