Abstract

PURPOSE:To simply purify water of a water tank by a method wherein plates with a different density formed from fibers made of a synthetic resin are mutually laminated and polluted water is passed through the resulting laminated filter material in such a manner that a direction of a water stream thereof is directed to a direction same to a surface direction of a low density plates of said laminated filter material. CONSTITUTION:The filter 15 received in a filter tank 14 is constituted by mutually laminating a matlike filter material 17 with a high density and a matlike filter material 18 with a low density. A material of the filter material is a synthetic resin and a same or a different chemical fibers may be used if their densities are different. Herein, a surface of the low density matlike filter material of a filter 15 is directed to a direction parallel to an inflow direction of the polluted water and said polluted water is supplied to the filter tank 14 from the water tank 1 through a conduit 13 by a suction pump 12. The polluted water is filtered by the filter 15 as well as subjected to biological treatment by activated sludge in mats and the resulting purified water is returned to the water tank 1 through a conduit 16.
