Abstract

PURPOSE: To ensure a stabilized control and also an interrupting action during the overcurrent when necessary, by using the choke coil incorporated into the Hall device for the smoothing circuit to perform a detection of the output current.
CONSTITUTION: The switching transistor TR2 is inserted in series into the primary winding 1A of the transformer 1; and the rectifying/smoothing circuit consisting of the diodes 3 and 4, choke coil 5 and capacitor 6 is connected to the secondary winding 1B. Thus the output Vo is obtained at the terminals P and N. The Hall IC10 is incorporated into the coil 5, and the output voltage Vh of the IC10 and the output voltage Vo between the terminals P and N are applied to the control circuit 7 which controls the on/off periods of the TR2. Then the output voltage Vh which is proportional to the DC magnetic flux component among the magnetic fluxes caused by the current passing through the coil 5 is delivered from the IC10. In this way, a stabilized control is possible with a simple constitution of circuit along with an interrupting action secured when necessary for the overcurrent.
