Abstract

PURPOSE: To remove the necessity for the heating of a fuel tank of a ship, and to achieve the safe, sure and economical combustion of a fuel, by blending low- viscosity oil into a high-viscosity oil to obtain a medium-viscosity oil, and storing the medium-visicosity oil in the fuel tank.
CONSTITUTION: Fuel oil C (a high-viscosity oil) is introduced into a blender 5 through a loading port 1, and the flow rate is detected and converted to a signal, which is transmitted to a conroller 13. The controller 13 controls the flow rate of fuel oil A (a low-vsicosity oil) into the blender 5 at a preset ratio to that of the fuel oil C by controlling the pumping rate of the high pressure pump 14. The mixed fuel oil is stored in a double-bottom FO tank 7, and transferred to a level-controlled settling tank 9 corresponding to the consumption of the oil in a burner 11.
EFFECT: Generation of sludge, etc. can be prevented by the chemical injector attached to the blender 5.
