Abstract

CONSTITUTION: In the sectional profile controlling method to be applied to the case of laterally dividing the hot rolled product of double width B into two blank mateterials of single width to be fed to the cold rolling pass, a deformed roll, possessing a protuberant shape corresponding to the hollow groove 2, is built in as the work roll of the final stand of the rough rolling line; hereby, the rough rolling pass is carried out as a through pass, and a hollow groove 2 of specified width is roll formed in the middle zone, to be divided later, of the material 1. the width C, depth (t), and width (b) of tapered part, of the hollow groove 2 are determined correspondingly to the width B and thickness T of the material 1. The hollow groove 2 is uniformly formed over all length of the material 1, which is subjected to the finishing pass without receiving any additional process. In the finishing stand, an ordinary rolling work is applied to the material 1 keeping constant the draft percentage; hereby material 1 is formed into a shape with moderately curved middle zone; this material 1 is divided along the center line into two blanks, and the blank, to be fed to the cold rolling pass, free from the thickness deviation along width, can be obtained.
