Abstract

PURPOSE:To make constitution simple and handling easy by coupling lense respectively to the opposing end faces parting optical fibers, and causing optical axis deviation between the lenses thereby controlling the rate of attenuation of the transmitted light. CONSTITUTION:To attenuate the light signal output transmitted into an optical fiber 5, the adjusting movable screw 2 which is disposed in contact with the other end part of a sleeve 3 opposedly disposed with the optical fibers 5 and 6 respectively coupled with lenses 7 and 8 is turned to push the other end of the sleeve 3 in an arrow direction. And said sleeve 3 is deformed to deflect, whereby an angular deviation in the optical axis is caused between the lenses 7 and 8 coupled to the end faces of the respective optical fibers 5 and 6, and according to this angle deviation, a part of the transmitted light is gently leaked and attenuated between said lenses 7 and 8.
