Abstract

PURPOSE: A lubricant composition having excellent adhesion stability in water and forming a tough oil film on the surface to be lubricated, prepared by adding a lithium soap, a C5 fraction-derived aliphatic petroleum resin and MoS2 to a specific high-viscosity base oil.
CONSTITUTION: To (A) a high-viscosity paraffinic base oil having a Herschel demulsibility of at least 1,600 and a kinematic viscosity at 37.8°C, of 500W1,500cst., are added (B) 0.1W10wt%, pref., 0.5W2wt% of a C5 fraction-derived aliphatic petroleum resin, (C) 6W15wt% of a lithium soap such as lithium 12-hydroxystearate, (D) 2W10wt% of MoS2 and optionally (E) a pour point depressant, an antioxidant, an extreme pressure agent, a viscosity index improver, etc.
