Abstract

PURPOSE: To simply perform the continuous hot extrusion work without generating the discard, by charging the forming billet or powder as the lubricant for the hot extrusion work in front and rear of the blank billet inserted in the container.
CONSTITUTION: The forming billet 15 or powder as the lubricant, like as graphite, boron nitride, molybdenum disulfide, etc., is charged in front or rear of the billet 14 of aluminum alloy, etc., placed in the cavity 11a of the container 11. A pressure is applied to the billet 14 through the pressure plate 13 by the stem 12; hereby, the front side lubricant billet 15 causes a deformation in the extruding hole 11b prior to the billet 14, and at the same time, a part of the lubricant billet 15 penetrates into the clearance between the billet 14 and the container 11, and performs the function as the lubricant. Further pressure is applied and the billet 14 is extruded following to the front side lubricant billet 15; after that, the stem 12 and the pressure plate 13 are pulled away. The rear side lubricant billet 15 is left behind in the container 11 as the front side lubricant billet 15 for the next extrusion work.
