PURPOSE:To perform screen print of excellent picture quality with gradations by digitizing a picture on a TV screen, by varying the width of a print pulse in proportion to the signal and by forming coloring density corresponding to the width. CONSTITUTION:Since a picture on the TV screen obtained by detecting circuit 3 is a motion picture, one field is extracted by analog field memory 4 and stored. In this case, input switch 6 is changed over from A to C and the output of memory 4 is inputted to interface circuit 7. Circuit 7 is provided with two comparison levels and while black-level and white-level voltages are generated, A/D conversion is performed to generate a print pulse of pulse width that corresponds to an analog signal. This pulse is supplied to the hand of printer 13. When this head is a thermal head, the color changing width of heat-sensitive paper varies with power feed time, i.e. the pulse width of a driving signal, so that the density will vary apparently. Through the A/D conversion of circuit 7, pulses that correspond to halftone gray as well as black and white can be obtained, so that the quality of a print screen will be improved.
