Abstract

PURPOSE:To secure the gap in-line property to avoid track and angle slippage, by arranging head pairs, where the sound recording head group and the reproducing head group are arranged in the tape running direction, back to back in the direction orthogonal to the running direction. CONSTITUTION:The first sound recording head 1R consisting of two head elements 1 and 1' corresponding to stereo two channels and the first reproducing head 1P consisting of head elements 2 and 2' similarly correspond to play in the tape going direction, and the second sound recording head 2R and the second reproducing head 2P correspond to play in the returning direction. Heads 1R and 2P and heads 2R and 1P are made into one bodies respectively to form head pairs 3 and 3'. Respective head cores are worked in one bodies so that gaps of elements 1 and 1' and elements 2 and 2' of respective heads may be in one line and track slippage and angle inclination (azimuth) of gaps of heads 1R and 1P and heads 2R and 2P may be prevented. Thus, a stereo cassette head for autoreverse used only for sound recording and reproducing is obtained.
