Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease the mingling of different color toners and enable good two- color images to be obtained by selecting the 1st toner and the 2nd toner as well as the 2nd toner and the 1st carrier of the surface quality close to that at which static attraction force is negligible in triboelectric charging system. CONSTITUTION:Epoxy-base resins and styrene-base resins are used for the main components of toners T1, T2, respectively, and styrene coated and epoxy coated carriers are used for the main components of carriers C1, C2, respectively. When the toner T1 and the carrier C1, as well as the toner T2 and the carrier C2 are combined and are subjected to triboelectric charging, the toner T is charged positive and the toner T2 negative. If these are mixed and two colors are simultaneously developed, the toner T2 sticks on the latent image of the high level V3 and the toner T1 sticks on the latent image of the low level V1, and this yields the two-color images. Here, the toner T1 and the carrier C2, as well as the toner T2 and the carrier C1 are of the same material, hence they do not develop any mututal attraction force.
