Abstract

PURPOSE: To stop water flow positively in two stages, rapid and slow, even at the time when some trouble is caused with selector valves or other, by feeding pressure oil to the second throttle valve via the second selector valve actuated by a cam and the second throttle-selector valve actuated by a cam connected to a piston for the first throttle valve.
CONSTITUTION: The second selector valve 29 on the side of a water turbine is made operable by a cam 30 and the second throttle-selector valve 41 is made operable by a cam 43 connected to a piston 37 of the first throttle valve. Pressure oil carried through a conduit 22 is supplied to the second throttle valve 39 via the second throttle valve 29 and the second throttle-selector valve 41 for closing the second throttle valve 39 during normal operation of the machine. In case that some trouble is caused with the first throttle valve 35 and the first selector valve 27 on the side of the water turbine, the second thrOttle valve 39 is actuated automatically at a predetermined opening of a servomotor 5 that is set at the same position as in the case of the first throttle valve or at a position displaced slightly toward the valve closing side. Therefore, it is enabled to stop water flow in two stages, rapid and slow, in reliable manner.
