Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable the change of valve opening and closing timing even during operation by a mechanism wherein two cams are mounted which bear the first half share of a valve lift, and the angles of each cam can be changed to the revolution of a crank shaft.
CONSTITUTION: An exhaust valve 1 is opened and closed by means of the first and second cams 5a, 5b through a locker arm 3, and an intake valve 2 is opened and closed by means of the first and second cams 6a, 6b through a locker arm 4. The first chain 15 is wound to the first stage of a crank gear 11 and the first cam gear of the first cam shaft 7 and the second chain 16 to the second stage of the crank gear 11 and the second and third cam gears 13, 14 of the second and third cam shafts 8, 9. An angle changing means 17 consists of a lever 20, to which idle gears 18, 19, to the outside thereof the first installed and which can move in the longitudinal direction. The stretching conditions of the chanins 15, 16 are altered by means of the lever 20, and the phase of the cams 5a, 6a, 5b, 6b is angle-changed.
