Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to use materials other than aluminum by a method wherein a long flat plate is bent into a channeled shape, then a plurality of skive-fins are erected by shaving on the outside surfaces of the bottom parts of the channels and the thus finned material is used as a blank material for the skive-finned tube for use in a heat exchanger.
CONSTITUTION: The long flat plate is formed into a channel-shaped tube blank material 1 by roll forming or the like, and a plurality of parallel wide channel parts 2 extending in the longitudinal direction A of the blank material 1 are formed. The plurality of skive-fins are erected by shaving on the outside surfaces of the channel parts 2. A pair of the thus obtained blank materials 1 are mated with each other, with the fins 3 being on the outside, and the edge parts 4 of the blank materials 1 are jointed with each other to obtain a tube body 5. Accordingly, materials other than aluminum can be used and the skive-finned tube having large length and width can be produced.
