Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a vinyl chloride synthetic resin open-cell foam with a uniformly minute cell, by mixing a resin composition composed of a PVC resin and a thermoplastic polyurethane resin, with a fibrous filler, a foaming agent, a plasticizer and a heat stabilizer, and expanding the resulting mixture.
CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. of a resin composition composed of 30W90pts.wt. of a vinyl chloride polymer or copolymer and 10W70pts.wt. of a thermoplastic polyurethane resin is mixed with 10W50pts.wt% a fibrous filler, a foaming agent, a plasticizer and a heat stabilizer. Then the mixture is expanded by heating. The fibrous filler is asbestos, a rock wool, a glass fiber, a ceramic fiber, a carbon fiber, a nylon fiber, a steel fiber, etc., preferably those having fiber length of 10W200μ and fiber diameter of 0.1W10μ. It is possible to prepare said foam by means of calendering or extrusion, which is suitable for mass production.
