Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance purification efficiency by a method wherein a sprinkled filter bed having a net provided under tension to a lower part thereof to fill "KOKASEKI" (pumice stone of rhyolite, product of Niizima) and a water immersed filter bed having a net cage containing the "KOKASEKI" immersed in water are combined in series and warm air is supplied from a bottom part to activate microorganism activity.
CONSTITUTION: A sprinkled filter bed 1 having the net 5 provided under tension to the lower part thereof to fill lumps 6 of "KOKASEKI" in the interior thereof and receiving the sewage sprinkled from a water sprinkler 4 in an upper part thereof and the water immersed filter bed 2 having the net cage 8 containing the lumps of "KOKASEKI" 6 arranged in a condition immersed in water are combined in series. Moreover, the warm air warmed by a heater is supplied to the lumps of "KOKASEKI" 6 and water from air diffusing pipes 7, 9 in a bottom part of the filter beds. Therefore, water temp. is maintained at 15W25°C and microorganisms are propagated well and the active purifying action is carried out.
