Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep the cylindricalness of a moistening roller constant and supply water film of uniform thickness for raising the quality of print by a method in which a driving roller having a lipophilic surface is turned while being oscillated so as to remove ink adhered to the moistening roller for leveling-off.
CONSTITUTION: The rotation of a printing cylinder 1 is transmitted through a printing cylinder gear 9, an intermediate gear 10, and a driving gear 11 to a driving roller 8 so as to oscillate and turn the roller 8 and a moistening roller 2 is turned. Since the driving roller 8 has a surface layer coated with a lipophylic substance, e.g., Rilsan, Nylon, ebonite, etc., inke adhered to the moistening roller 2 is removed and the thickness of the ink is evenly leveled off as printing operation proceeds.
