Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain sufficient image densities even in widened parts in the case of performing copying of a large size after copying of multiple sheets of small sizes by containing polycarbonate in the surface layer of a member which applies friction charge to the toner, in a developing method of using the one-component insulation- characteristic toner. CONSTITUTION:Electrostatic images are developed by the one-component insulation-chracteristic magnetic toner 11, by fixing a multipole permanent magnet 9 and rotating a nonmagnetic cylinder 4b in the same direction as that of an electrostatic image holding surface 1 of a photoreceptor (for example, drum). A coating soln. prepd. by dissolving polycarbonate in toluene is coated on the surface of said cylinder 4b and is dried, whereby a thin polycarbonate layer is provided. When the toner 11 is thinly adhered on the sleeve 4b by means of a doctor blade 10 and friction charge is applied to the toner, the phenomenon by which the images of the widened parts were hitherto not well copied in the case of copying a large size after copying of multiple sheets of small sizes is eliminated and always good images are obtainable irrespective of copying sizes.
