Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the use of a laser beam in its worsened state by applying a portion of a laser beam divided by a translucent mirror or the like to a photoelectric element such as a CCD in order to measure the luminance distribution, and comparing it with a reference luminance distribution through a given circuit to output a signal. CONSTITUTION:The laser beam from a laser 11 is divided by a dividing means 13 such as a translucent mirror, passed through a beam expander 16, and applied to a photoelectric element 15 such as a CCD. The signal from the photoelectric element 15, which is scanned by a clock driver 17, is entered into a comparator 19 through an amplifier 18, and compared with a given DC level. When the signal is larger than the DC level, a H signal is sent to a shift register 20, which, synchronized with the clock driver 17, adds the H signal to judge the worsening of the beam section, and signals, so that the use of a laser beam in its worsened state can be prevented.
