Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent substances to be transferred from clogging by opening an axial end face of a screw conveyer for dealing with urban rubbish or the like as a discharge port while extending supportably a drive shaft of the screw in the opposite direction to that end.
CONSTITUTION: In a screw conveyer incorporated in a plant for disposing urban rubbish to transfer the urban rubbish or the like, a casing 1 has on the upper portion of one end a dumping port 11 and on the other end a fully opened discharge port 12. A drive shaft 22 of a screw body 2 having a screw blade 21 extends through the one end face of the casing opposite to the discharge port 12 to project outside and be journalled by bearings 7, 8 provided on a frame bed 6 in the form of a cantilever. Thus, even if strings or the like are mixed into the rubbish there is no fear of clogging of the rubbish since no bearings are at the discharge port 12 and the rubbish is transferred in the same direction as that of the drive shaft 22 of the screw.
