Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a rotor of electric rotary machine keeping a desired volume resistivity and having the easiness of welding and the high strength by a method wherein the rotor-bar is made of an alloy of nickel, silicon and copper having specified component ratio. CONSTITUTION:Rotor-bars 1 are inserted into slots 3 of a rotor-core 2, and the both end parts are connected to short-circuiting rings 4 to form a cage winding 5. Slots 8 for the welding opening are prepared at the outer circumference of the rotor-bars 1 and the short-circuiting rings 4, and a molten metal 9 is poured-in to weld the rotor-bars 1 and the short-circuiting rings 4. The rotor-bars 1 are formed with an alloy of copper, nickel and silicon consisted in weight ratio of 0.05-15% nickel, 0,1-2.0% silicon and the rest percent of substantially of copper. By making the rotor-bars with the alloy of copper, nickel and silicon thus composed, the retention of desired volume resistivity, the easiness of welding and the enhancement of strength can be obtained.
