Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a catalyst capable of reducing the activity of SO2 oxidation without sacrificing the deNOx activity by a method wherein a substrate is impregnated with a soluble salt of, Ti which is transformed by ammonia water into titanium hydoxide, sintered at a specific temperature, is impregnated with a soluble salt of Zr, etc., which is converted to an insoluble sulfate, then impregnated with soluble salt of V.
CONSTITUTION: A heat-resistant inorganic substrate is impregnated with a solution containing soluble salt of Ti, which is converted to titanium hydroxide by treating with NH3-water, washed with water if required, either dried or sintered below 800°C, which is impregnated with a solution of soluble salts such as periodic table II A group, IV A group, and Zr (A-component), and then if required is dried. The obtained product is either (a) treated with sulfate ion-containing solution, and sintered below 600°C to convert the A-component to an insoluble sulfate, then is impregnated with a solution of soluble salt of V and dried to be followed by sintering at 300W600°C, or (b) impregnated with vanadium sulfate solution, dried and sintered at 300W600°C. In both cases, the titled catalyst is prepared which reduces the activity of SO2 oxidation and decreases equipment corrosion.
