Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the burden in the operator and to reduce the transmission time, by automatically controlling the transmission state through the detection of the size of original and recording paper. CONSTITUTION:The size of original is detected at an original width detection circuit 1, the video information recorded on original is read in at a write-in circuit 2 and converted into an electric signal, and after it is modulated at a unit MODEM3, the transmission system between the facsimile device and a telephone set 2 is matched at a unit NCU4 and delivered to the reception side. The reception mode of opposing device is received at a tonal reception circuit 7 at the NCU4 and after receiving the reception mode of opposing party, the information of the size of the original detected at the circuit 1 is fed to the NCU4 from the tonal transmission circuit 8 and transmitted to the reception side. Further, the transmission mode of video signal is selected with the output of the transmission circuit 8 with the content of the reception mode received at the reception circuit 7 to reduce the burden in the operator and to decrease the transmission time.
